Trouble Shooting Guide

If you are having trouble with your home comfort system, this simple series of questions may help you diagnose your problem and maybe even help you fix it yourself, saving you time and money.
Is your thermostat set on heat? *


If you're home comfort system thermostat is not set on heat right now, you may want to flip the switch and get your heat on. It's cold out! If you'd still like to ask us a question or get a hold of us for any other reason, we're here for you. Contact us by clicking HERE.
Is the temperature on the thermostat set higher than what the current room temperature is?


Breaker Check


Sometimes, your furnace breaker can trip. Have you checked your circuit breakers? You can locate your circuit breaker in your home breaker box. Often times, there will be a separate shut off switch next to the unit. You may want to check that switch as well.
What type of furnace do you have?



If you think you may have gas, but are not sure, a big indicator could be whether you receive a gas bill each month. If you do, you probably have a gas furnace.
Is your gas valve open to the dwelling and your heating unit?


Have you heard any unusual noises coming from the heating unit?


Be as descriptive as possible. Also be sure to include whether you did anything to cause the sounds or if they just happened on their own.
Have you smelled anything unusual coming from the heating system?




Have you noticed any unusual fluids leaked around or beneath the unit?
